Did You Know?
The Fahrenheit scale was invented in 1724 by Daniel Fahrenheit, who set 0°F as the coldest temperature he could achieve with a salt-ice mixture.
Celsius, created in 1742, originally had 0°C as boiling and 100°C as freezing—it was later reversed!
Absolute zero (-273.15°C or -459.67°F) is the coldest possible temperature, where molecular motion stops.
Quick Reference
- 0°C = 32°F = 273.15K
- 100°C = 212°F = 373.15K
- °F = (°C × 9/5) + 32
- K = °C + 273.15
- °R = K × 9/5
